The Youth Disc Golf Association, is a volunteer based organization, sharing the wonderful game of disc golf with kids of all ages. Our mission is to expand awareness and participation in the sport. We will achieve this goal by conducting clinics at junior high and high schools, and also at existing youth oriented organizations. The YDGA is participation oriented. Schools are invited to form a YDGA sponsored disc golf club which puts together teams to participate in youth disc golf leagues and tournaments. These events are supervised by YDGA trained volunteers. The YDGA wishes to create a fun and safe opportunity for its members to enjoy the sport in a supervised and safe environment. As such we are selective in our volunteer trainers and coaches to persons who embrace our philosphy and commitment to adhereing to the highest standards of ethics, kindness and mutual respect for each other, the game, and mother nature. Many of the reasons we created the YDGA are the life lessons integral to playing disc golf! As lovers of the game we all know, the lessons just keep coming. We’re about learning correct technique, and we’re excited to make instructional video easily accessible. We are about sharing our love for the game, appreciating the opportunity, and watching a first timer snap off a three hundred foot drive! We are Helping Kids Take Flight! June 10, 2009 by youthdiscgolfassocGoerge Spracklen’s Ace!!!
December 10, 2009 by youthdiscgolfassocGeorge Spracklen’s Ace on the last hole of the 29th Annual Southwestern Invitational Team tournament at Morley Field was amazing and put the finishing touch on a tough Huntington Beach team consisting of Bobby Musick(So Cal 2009 Champ), Paul McBeth, Chris Brophy, Joel Hall, and Kyle Eckmann just to name a few. It was the last hole of the match and the tourney and we wanted to catch one last set of drives from our local pro’s. We positioned the camara just behind hole two’s basket in hole three’s fairway about 30 feet back ready to catch the last two minutes of film left on the camara hoping we had enough time left to capture the moment of pure flight. ChaChing ChaChing ChaChing!!! Special thanks from the YDGA to George Spracklen for donating his time with the YDGA….
